The Mariposa County Library offers a wide range of online resources to support learning, research, career development, and personal enrichment. From ancestry databases and language-learning tools to medical references and test-prep resources, our services provide rich, trusted content for patrons.

Please note: many of these resources require a library card to access. Some are available only when you are inside the library using a public computer or its free Wi-Fi.

  • Ancestry Library - Search over 800 million obituaries and 220 million marriages. Accessible only within the library.
  • Archives Unbound - Access primary, unpublished archival documents for research.
  • Resources for Writers - A compilation of resources for writers.
  • California State Library Online Collection - Searchable catalogs of historic California art, prints, documents, and photographs.
  • Calisphere - Free access to over 2,000 collections from California cultural heritage organizations.
  • Chilton Library - Auto repair info and labor-cost calculators. Use in library only.
  • Culture Grams - Concise, reliable cultural content about countries and peoples.
  • Diversity Studies - Gale - Social science, history, and liberal arts research support.
  • Driving Tests - Practice DMV tests for cars, motorcycles, and CDL.
  • ELibrary - Research database for high school, college, and university students.
  • Gale Elementary Database - Encyclopedia-style answers for young children’s research questions.
  • General OneFile - Gale - Explore topics across multiple subjects. Library card required.
  • GetSetUp - Hundreds of live online classes to stay mentally, physically, and socially active.
  • Mariposa Law Library - Resources for legal help, including county courthouse contacts.
  • Merck Manuals - Medical information in everyday language on topics, symptoms, drugs, and procedures.
  • NorthStar Digital Literacy - Gain basic computer and internet skills. Northstar Digital Literacy helps users gain the basic skills needed to use a computer and the internet in daily life, employment, and higher education. Ask the Mariposa County Librarian for more information. Access to Northstar Digital Literacy provided by the California State Library concludes September 30, 2024. Keep learning by checking out the other online resources available through your public library.
