Visalia Police arrest man after illegal guns found in car

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested during a traffic stop in Visalia on Friday after officers found multiple illegal weapons in his car, police said.

Officers arrested 24-year-old Tommy Hawk Gutierrez of Lemoore shortly after 8 a.m.

The incident began when an officer conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Tulare Avenue and Court Street for a vehicle displaying no license plate.

During the stop, the officer noticed a portion of a firearm inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed multiple illegal weapons and ammunition, including an illegally modified AR-style pistol, an unregistered privately manufactured AR-style pistol, a disassembled short-barreled shotgun, two high-capacity AR-15 magazines and numerous rounds of .223 caliber ammunition.

Guiterrez was arrested and booked for multiple firearm-related charges.
