SANGER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE)- An investigation is underway after a juvenile was assaulted and injured Sunday afternoon, Sanger police said.

Investigators said around 11:40 a.m., officers were dispatched first to a call of gunfire near the McDonald’s restaurant at Academy and Church Avenues.

Moments later, they were notified of a report of a stabbing about a half-mile away in the 900 block of Sterling Avenue.

Shortly after that, police said, a juvenile stabbing victim showed up at the Sanger Fire Department.

Officers said the incident seemed to have begun near the fast-food restaurant.

The victim was transported to an area hospital, and investigators said their condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the attack, or who may have information in this case, is asked to call the Sanger Police Department at 559-875-8522.
