CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – At least six police vehicles were seen blocking southbound Willow Avenue at Nees Avenue in Clovis on Thursday after what the Clovis Police Department says began as a shooting three miles away.
According to Clovis Police, the incident began around noon, close to the intersection of Sunnyside and Shepherd avenues, following a report of a disturbance with possible gunshots. Officers confirmed that shots had been fired and began searching for a suspect.

Officers say they identified the suspects’ vehicle and managed to stop it at Willow Avenue and Nees Avenue. Two people were detained at the scene.
Video from the scene at Willow Avenue and Nees Avenue shows a brown sedan being searched by officers and a police K-9. A silver sedan with damage to its driver’s side can also be seen, but that vehicle was not being searched by officers.
No further information about the incident has been officially released.
