
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A dozen drivers were arrested over the weekend during a DUI checkpoint in Fresno, according to the city’s police department.
Police say in total, 12 drivers were arrested on Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Officials say drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
