MARIPOSA, CA – Sierra Artists Gallery is excited to announce the 2nd Mariposa Paint Out, set for April 22–26, 2026. After the success of last year’s inaugural event, organizers are inviting artists of all mediums and experience levels to join this creative celebration in Mariposa and Yosemite.

Participants will receive a registration packet containing the full event schedule, a map with boundaries and suggested painting locations, rules, and all event details. Artists may enter up to two artworks at the awards ceremony, displayed framed or unframed on their easels, with cash prizes awarded Sunday afternoon. After the ceremony, all pieces will be available for sale through Sierra Artists Gallery.

Artist Commission:
Sierra Artists Gallery will retain a 30% commission on all paintings sold during the event, with the remaining 70% going to the artist.

Registration Details:
Tickets are $60 and non-refundable. Registration is open until April 15 at www.sierraartistsgallery.com or in person at Sierra Artists Gallery, 5031 Hwy 140, Mariposa, CA. Participation is limited to 45 artists, with a waitlist available once full.

Event Timeline:

• Tuesday, April 21: Check-in and canvas/panel stamping begins at 4:00 p.m. Additional stamping available Wednesday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

• Wednesday–Saturday: Artists paint in Mariposa and Yosemite.

  • Wednesday morning: Additional check-in and stamping 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday evening: Meet & Greet with complementary pizza for registered artists in downtown Mariposa.

• Saturday evening: Nocturne painting meetup in downtown Mariposa.

• Sunday afternoon: Awards gathering with judges Veronica Gross and Moira Donohoe, followed by a wet-paint sale.

Workshops (Optional):
Artists may participate in workshops with award-winning instructors Veronica Gross, Christine Obers, and Penny Otwell. Workshop details—including descriptions, times, fees, and registration links—are available on the gallery website.

Artwork Guidelines:

• All submitted pieces for awards must be created on location within event boundaries and timeline.

• Canvases or substrates must be stamped and dated by Sierra Artists Gallery before painting.

• Each artist may submit a maximum of two works for awards.

• Following the awards, artists may display and sell any work created at MPO 2026, as well as stamped work from MPO 2025.

• All sales handled by Sierra Artists Gallery with a 30% commission; artists set their own prices.

Special rates are available at the Mariposa Lodge and Best Western Mariposa. Discounted Airbnb and vacation home rentals are also linked on the gallery website.
