Winter storms cause power outage in Kings Canyon National Park

KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Ongoing winter storms have caused an outage in Kings Canyon National Park, officials announced.

Park officials announced the Kings Canyon Visitor Center in the Grant Grove area is temporarily closed.

According to the PG&E Outage Map, between 50 and 300 customers are affected by the outage.

Officials say the center will be reopened once electricity returns and the building can be heated, and deep, heavy snow can be cleared for the public.
