BASS LAKE, CA – The Yosemite Gateway Prescribed Burn Cooperative (YGPBC) is excited to announce an upcoming “Learn & Burn” workshop for residents wanting to learn best practices for safe pile burning in
Mariposa and Madera Counties. This FREE hands-on educational event is designed to raise awareness
about prescribed burning and provide community members with the knowledge, skills, and resources
needed to safely and effectively use prescribed fire on their properties.
Learn & Burn Event Information:

Where: Bass Lake, CA
When: Saturday, March 14, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
What: A cadre of instructors will provide training on pile burn planning, permitting, smoke management,
weather considerations, invasive plants and safe operations. After lunch, participants will have the
opportunity to apply the skills discussed during the morning outdoor instruction. Participants will gain
hands-on experience with pile burning techniques, safety protocols, and burn operations.
