
Jack Darrel Cornett, 74, of North Fork, California, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at Hinds Hospice Home in Fresno. He was born March 10, 1951, in Fresno, California.
Jack lived more than fifty years in the North Fork and Cascadel Woods community, where he built his home on ten acres and devoted himself to the place he loved. A lifelong outdoorsman, he developed his passion for camping, hunting, and fishing as a child alongside his parents, John Loyd and Velma Cornett. He worked at the North Fork Lumber Mill and later for Sierra Telephone Company until retirement. He supported his community by helping maintain the Cascadel Woods fire truck and snowplow and later volunteered with the Lions Club. He also enjoyed golf, playing cards and cribbage, watching sports—especially the Seattle Seahawks—and sharing good meals with family and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, brother, and grandfather. He married his wife, Kathi, in 1995, and they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary last July.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John Loyd and Velma Cornett; his granddaughter, Haley Christine Wright; his niece, Quintilla; his uncle Don and aunt Shirley Cornett; and his brother-in-law, Michael Ayers.
He is survived by his wife, Kathi Cornett; his daughter, Coreen Lawoyin, and her husband, Dele, and their children Destiny, Joshua, Nathaniel, and Nevanna; his son, Eli Cornett, and his wife, Vanessa, and their children Hunter, Laney, and Luna-Jean; his stepson, Donald Robert Cram II, and his wife, Lisa, and their children Brady and Reagan; his stepson, Robert Raymond Cram; his stepdaughter, Michelle “Shelly” Stevens, and her husband, David, and their children David, Kyle, Jacob, and Morgan; his sister, Carolyn, and her family; and many extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held March 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cascadel Woods Clubhouse, 59827 Cascadel Drive, North Fork CA 93643. Please kindly RVSP by text to 553-760-4448.
