COARSEGOLD, CA – The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, through its Community and Economic Development Authority (CEDA), has approved a $10,000 contribution to support the lifesaving work of Muddy Paws, a local animal rescue organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs in need.

The donation will help Muddy Paws continue providing urgent veterinary care, foster support, and essential resources for animals that might otherwise have nowhere to turn.

“Supporting organizations like Muddy Paws reflects our Tribe’s long-standing commitment to compassion, community responsibility, and service,” said Chairperson Deann Kamalani, Chairperson of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. “Their work saves lives every day, and we are proud to help ensure they can continue caring for animals in critical need.”

Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi IndiansTribal leaders noted Muddy Paws’ hands-on approach, transparency, and consistent presence in the community as key reasons for the contribution. The organization relies heavily on community support to cover medical costs and provide temporary care for rescued animals until permanent homes can be found.

This contribution is part of the Tribe’s broader community investment efforts, which prioritize programs and organizations that make a tangible, positive impact on quality of life throughout the region.
