LEMOORE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The woman who was killed after she was ejected from a rollover crash near NAS Lemoore over the weekend was named on Monday.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office named the victim as 27-year-old Cynthia Salinas. She was from Huron.
Her childhood friend, Jailine Valdez, said the crash has left her and Cynthia’s family heartbroken.
“Never in a thousand years did I think I’d have to sit here [and] say a final goodbye… I’m so sorry this happened. My heart can’t accept this,” she wrote.
Cynthia was killed early Saturday morning on Highway 198, east of Jameson Avenue. Officers say she was driving west when she drifted to the shoulder, lost control, and spun across both lanes of traffic before rolling the vehicle down a small embankment.
CHP says she was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was like a sister. I trusted her fully and loved her unconditionally… I’ll always love you and I’ll always miss you.
