Motorist Sustains Fatal Injuries in Coarsegold

COARSEGOLD, CA – On March 21, 2026, at approximately 2:15 a.m., CHP Oakhurst Area officers responded to a solo vehicle crash on State Route 41 at Road 420 in Coarsegold, CA.

The driver, a 35-year-old male from Mariposa, CA, was driving a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander southbound on State Route 41, approaching Road 420 at an unknown speed. For an unknown reason, the driver made an unsafe turn to the left and struck the embankment on the east side of State Route 41, causing the vehicle to overturn and the driver to be ejected.

The driver sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. A 58-year-old male passenger from Canada was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CA, with moderate injuries. The crash is currently under investigation.
