New updates will be provided when conditions on the fire change or significant activity occurs.

(May 21, 2026) The Jericho Creek Fire, located approximately 16 miles southwest of Helena, MT remains at approximately 1,000 acres.

The fire area received over a one quarter inch of precipitation since yesterday afternoon and more precipitation is expected today.

Firefighters continue to work on indirect confinement strategies due to heavy downed timber and a large concentration of dangerous standing dead trees (“snags”) that pose challenges to ensuring firefighter safety.

Resources assigned to the fire include one hotshot crew, one dozer, two masticators, one excavator, two engines, three suppression modules, and a Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) module.

No closures are in effect, but the public is asked to avoid the Continental Divide area south of MacDonald Pass to Minnehaha/Bryon Creek Road.
