Borrow E-books and Audiobooks
You can enjoy thousands of E-books and audiobooks using our digital library. There are three main ways to access them:
- Libby – a popular app for borrowing eBooks and audiobooks.
- Palace Project – offers additional titles from the California State Library.
- Cloud Library – part of our library catalog, with a focus on eBooks.
Each platform may have unique titles, so be sure to explore all three!
How to Borrow E-books on Palace, on your browser
- Click on the link above
- Click on “Sign In”
- Enter your Barcode and PIN/Password and click “Login”
- Browse or search for an item to checkout
- Click on “Borrow this book” to checkout or “Reserve this book” to place on hold
- Click “Read Online” to read in the browser or find your library in the Palace app on your mobile device to read in app
- To see all items checked out and on hold in the web catalog, go to the “My Books” tab
How to Borrow E-books on ValleyCat
Getting started is simple. You’ll need a library card and an internet connection.
- Log in: Visit the Mariposa County Library Catalog and enter your library card number (found under the barcode) and PIN.
Don’t know your PIN? Call the library at (209) 966-2140 during open hours. - Search and borrow: Set the search parameters to Digital Catalog to find E-books and audiobooks. You can refine by author, title, or subject. Click Download to borrow immediately or Place Hold if the title is checked out.
- Enjoy your book: Read or listen online, download for offline use, or send E-books to a Kindle device. You can also transfer titles to compatible eReaders or MP3 players.
