MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was found dead in the trunk of a white Tesla in Merced County, according to the CHP, prompting a homicide investigation to figure out what happened.
Officers say the vehicle was found on Thursday at around 12:20 p.m. on Highway 152, east of Lower Cottonwood Road, in Merced County. CHP from Los Banos responded to a call about a missing person in the area. They arrived to find a man dead in the trunk of a white Tesla sedan.
Detectives with CHP’s major crimes unit are working to figure out what happened.
The identity of the man found has not been officially released, but officers describe him as Hispanic.
