Timber (Litter and Understory)
Timber (Grass and Understory)
Brush (2 feet)
Narrative:
The fire areas consist of a mosaic of Timber Litter (TL8), Timber with Understory (TU2), Shrub (SH2) and Grass/Shrub (GS2) fuel models. Pockets of heavy dead and down fuels with snags are prevalent across the fire area. Dominant tree species include mixed sizes and densities of Douglas Fir, Ponderosa Pine, and Western Larch. Understory vegetation is ceanothus, snowberry, and bitterbrush. Ladder fuels and low crown base heights are prevalent in most timbered areas. Live woody and herbaceous fuels are contributing to fire spread, particularly lower elevations and southern aspects.
