New agreement ensures longtime resource remains open for local golfers while expanding opportunities for youth programs

Valley Children’s Healthcare and CourseCo today announced a new partnership to operate the Highway 41 Golf Center, former Valley Golf Center, ensuring the longtime community destination remains open and accessible for golfers, families, schools and community organizations throughout the Central Valley.

After Valley Golf Center’s owners shared their plans to retire, they worked with Valley Children’s to identify a potential new management company, eventually making the introduction to CourseCo. The new operators plan to build on the property’s strong foundation, while expanding opportunities for recreation and youth programs.

“When the longtime operators shared their retirement plans with us, our priority was simple: keep the facility open and preserve it as a community asset,” said Valley Children’s Vice President of Facilities and Construction Kellie Dyer. “Our new agreement with CourseCo allows us to build on a great legacy while ensuring the golf center continues to serve families throughout the Central Valley for years to come.”

CourseCo has more than 35 years of experience operating community-focused golf facilities throughout the western United States and has served the Central California area since 1989 as the operator of Riverside Golf Course in Fresno and Valley Oaks Golf Course in Visalia. The company will oversee daily operations, community engagement and future enhancements.

“For more than three decades, CourseCo has believed that golf facilities should serve as gathering places for their communities,” said CourseCo President and CEO Michael Sharp. “We are honored to partner with Valley Children’s to build on the legacy of this property and create a place where people of all ages can learn, play, connect and experience the game of golf in a welcoming environment.”

Programs at the Highway 41 Golf Center will include:

  • Partnerships with First Tee, Youth on Course and local schools
  • Junior golf instruction and youth development programs
  • Clinics, camps and player development programs
  • Adaptive golf and inclusive programming
  • Family-friendly events and community gatherings
  • Health and wellness activities that encourage active lifestyles

“First Tee – Fresno values its partnership with CourseCo and its commitment to creating welcoming environments where young people can learn, grow and thrive through golf,” said Morgan Berling, Executive Director for First Tee – Fresno. “Together, we’re expanding access to the game while helping build confidence, character and life skills for the next generation. With CourseCo’s longstanding presence in Fresno, we’re excited to see another local facility become part of its commitment to making golf more accessible and creating new opportunities for youth and families throughout our community.”

CourseCo will assume operations of Highway 41 Golf Center on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026. Tee times will open for booking on Monday, July 27. Follow Highway 41 Golf Center on Facebook and Instagram at @hwy41golfcenter, and visit highway41golfcenter.com.
