FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A grandma who was over 100 years old was killed, and three others were taken to the hospital, following a crash on Old Millerton Road in Fresno County on Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers say the crash took place at around 12:45 p.m. on a section of Auberry Road between Millerton Road and Frontier Road. The area is around three miles from Millerton Lake.

According to the California Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old driving a Toyota was going westbound on Millerton Road and trying to turn left to go southbound on Auberry Road. At the same time, the Nissan was going northbound on Auberry Road with the right of way.

Officers say the Toyota turned into the path of the Nissan when the crash took place. The crash claimed the life of a woman in the back of the Nissan, described by officers as a grandma who was over 100 years old and was local to the area.

The 18-year-old was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Other people injured in the incident were transported to local hospitals.

The identities of those involved have not been officially released.
