Officer Involved Shooting Near Millerton Lake

A crew is at an active scene for an officer-involved shooting in Madera County.

According to the Madera Sheriff’s Office, the incident started as a pursuit on Friant road, near Millerton Lake.

Officials say the suspect led deputies on a chase and then barricaded himself inside a home on the west side of Millerton Lake.

Reports from the scene indicate that the suspect had a rifle and pointed it at deputies.

Deputies fired a shot toward the suspect, but it’s unknown right now if the suspect was hit.

Officials are calling in additional resources including the Madera County Swat Team.

Officials also say there may be another person in the house, so they are being cautious.
