Officers Arrest Man Suspected of Supplying Gang Members with Firearms; Seize ‘Arsenal’ of Weapons

Officers arrested 22-year-old Brandon Davis, Jr., Friday night for allegedly supplying Bulldog gang members with firearms.

Officers served a search warrant around 9 p.m. in the area of Clinton and Marks in west central Fresno.

They seized what they’re calling an arsenal of weapons and a tremendous amount of ammunition.

The investigation stemmed from a pursuit Monday in Calwa where officers arrested two Bulldog gang members who were allegedly found with a gun registered to Davis.

Davis does not have any felony convictions, according to Sgt. Paul Cervantes with Fresno County MAGEC (Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium).

Officers believe Bulldog gang members were using Davis to make what’s known as a "straw purchase"–that’s legally buying guns and then supplying them to gang members when they want them.

Officers seized at least 10 weapons they say were readily accessible and loaded.

"some of those magazines that go to those weapons include a 50 round drum, some of them I believe were 60 round drums. We have high capacity magazines, 9 millimeter, 45. Pretty much, it runs the gamut," Cervantes said.

At least five of the weapons were registered to Davis, and officers are investigating who the other guns are registered to, according to Cervantes.

Officers believe these firearms may be tied to recent crimes.
