The owner of a Mexican restaurant at Butler and Orange in Southeast Fresno was allegedly shot on Sunday night, according to Fresno Police, in an attempted robbery.<br /><br />Sgt. Doug Goertzen said they received reports of a shooting victim at El Nuevo Paraiso Taqueria y Restaurant around 9:30pm. He said as police were arriving to the scene, units noticed suspects running away from the restaurant. Goertzen said police chased the suspects’ vehicle down the street about a mile away to the intersection of Balch and 3rd, where the suspects apparently fled from their car. Police were able to arrest two out of the four suspects. Goertzen said one police unit crashed and was damaged while attempting to chase and arrest the suspects.<br /><br />Goertzen said all of the suspects are male juveniles. The two that were arrested are described as one black male juvenile, and the other is a Hispanic male juvenile. The other two suspects whom police are looking for are described at Hispanic male juveniles.<br /><br />Friends of the owners of El Nuevo Paraiso said the owner is described as a man in his 50s. They said the man and his wife, along with their two daughters, have owned and operated the restaurant for the past four years.<br /><br />Police said the victim was transported to Community Regional Medical Center and is undergoing surgery. They were unable to give the victim’s status. </div>
