Two women were arrested for willful cruelty to a child after a confrontation with students at Cooper Middle School.

Police say a 12 and 13-year-old girl were hurt.

Inez Hernandez who is 33 and 29 year old Teri Johnson were both arrested Thursday, two days after the incident at Cooper Middle School.

"It just seemed like when the little girl who was being a bully got her feelings hurt because someone addressed her on what she was doing then it wasn’t okay," Hernandez said.

Police originally told us the incident involved Hernandez’s son, but the women tell us it was Johnson’s 12 year old son who was being bullied.

"On Tuesday I got a phone call from my son. He was in the school restroom crying. The kids were bullying him once again," Johnson said.

Johnson said she notified the Principal in the past about the bullying but nothing was done. She tells us she the boys older sister wanted to talk to the alleged bullies. They walked onto campus Tuesday and into the cafeteria.

"They lashed out at my sons sister and it just sort of escalated from there," Johnson said.

"The only reason why I even got near anyone was because I did see one of the teachers grab my daughter by her wrist. So I was like don’t touch my daughter. Then it escalated to the bullies friend got really aggressive," Hernandez said.

Police say it got out of control. After investigating officers arrested both women Thursday for conspiracy and misdemeanor willful cruelty to a child.

"Around 8 pm I had several police officers rush into my home and arrest me in front of my children," Johnson said.

The two women said officers got it all wrong.

"The police department is sitting here making us look like ugly parents. We are far from that if we didn’t care our kids would be running in the streets. Our kids very athletic they go to school they get good grades," Hernandez said.

Johnson’s son was cited for felony conspiracy and his 15-year-old sister for misdemeanor battery on a school official.

The parents want surveillance video released of the incident.

"You will nowhere in that video see me or Inez anywhere near the little girls. That is against all my morals. The video will speak a thousand words," Johnson said.

She says her son was suspended for 5 days and may be kicked out of school for the incident.
