Police Investigating Southeast Fresno Shooting that Injured Man

Fresno police are investigating a shooting in southeast Fresno that injured a man Wednesday night. Those responsible are on the loose.

The victim, a Hispanic male, was taken to the hospital in stable condition, expected to survive, according to Lt. Phil Cooley with the Fresno Police Department.

It happened around 10:15 p.m. at a home in the 1700 block of S. Second Street near Butler Avenue.

Police say a man appeared to have been shot two times. When police arrived, family members were trying to get the victim into a vehicle to take him to the hospital.

It’s unknown if the shooting is gang-related because police say the victim and the witnesses are being uncooperative.

Police say three Hispanic males may have been seen running from the home, possibly into a car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP to remain anonymous.
