An Evacuation Order still remains in effect within the fire perimeter on Tassajara Road, Cachagua Road.

Evacuation Center:
Closed as of 8:00 AM, Tuesday, September 22nd.

Injuries: 1 civilian fatality

Conditions: The onshore flow during the night and morning hours continues to aid in the control efforts of the fire. However, by noon, gusty northwest winds will develop along Carmel Valley Rd. and persist till sunset causing lower humidity’s and warmer weather. Temperatures will significantly rise and humidity’s will lower starting Thursday. Firefighters are continuing to mop up and patrol the fire area, making sure hot spots are mitigated and control lines are strengthened. Fire Suppression repair actions will start today as well.
Electricity has been restored to parts of the fire area and PG&E continues to work to restore power to the areas that remain affected.
Damage inspection teams have completed the survey of the fire area and have verified the damage numbers.
The Laureles Fire is 95 acres and 100% contained.

Road Closures
Cachaqua Road at Madrone Road, Poppy Tree Lane at Buckeye Road, Tassajara Road, east of Buckeye Road (Tassajara Road closed at fire perimeter to north traffic), Tassajara Road, south of East Carmel Valley Road (Tassajara Road closed at fire perimeter to south traffic) and East Carmel Valley Road, south of Tassajara Road near fire perimeter will have one-lane traffic control due to fire equipment operating in the area.
