Three County High-Speed Chase Ends Near Merced

Two men have been taken into custody after a high-speed chase ended near the city of Merced.

The chase resulted after the two suspects broke into a pharmacy on Nees and north Fresno, stealing prescription medication.

At least four agencies, including Fresno PD, Madera PD, California Highway Patrol and Madera Sheriff’s Office responded around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The pursuit went from north Fresno, down Highway 41, through Madera County. It then moved to Highway 99 and then traveled through Madera and Chowchilla before CHP and other officials were able to stop the car at the Le Grand exit, just before the city of Merced.

According to authorities on scene, the vehicle was a rental.

The suspects were both from Sacramento.

No injuries were reported from the incident.
