Tobin (Wildfire)

The Tobin Fire is north of CA HWY 70 and west of Jackass Creek Road. The fire was reported mid-morning on Monday, September 25 and was approximately 35 acres at mid-afternoon. It is now 100 acres in late afternoon and has burned to Tobin Ridge. The head of the fire is holding along retardant lines along the ridge while the flanks or sides of the fire have open line remaining. There are 4 air-tankers, a lead plane and air attack along with 5 helicopters assisting 4 engines, 2 type 1 handcrews, 2 patrols and a dozer on the ground. Other crews have been arriving. The area is steep, rocky and treacherous with heavy brush and downed and standing snags. Air resources will ground as the daylight fades and return in the morning.The current fire is within the 2000 Storrie Fire and 2008 Lightning Complex perimeter. Power lines are.
