Weekend Fun: List of Fun Events Happening in the Valley

Take dad to a blues fest, a baseball game, a fruit jubilee or a shakespeare play. Lots going on this Father’s Day weekend in the Valley. Here’s a list of events in our weekend fun report:
-Treat dad to an afternoon of blues at the 6th Annual Tower District Father’s Day Blues Festival! Big Earl and the Cryin’ Shame, AC Myles Band and 3 Guys Playin’ the Blues are just a few of the bands performing. It takes place Sunday from from 2 to 7 p.m. on the Saint Therese Church lawn. Tickets are $ 10, kids under age nine are free.
-You know it’s summer time when the "Woodward Park Shakespeare Festival" returns. The fan favorite opens with Richard III. It plays Thursdays through Saturdays at 8pm until July 11. Admission is free with the cost of park admission.
-Stone fruit is in full bloom and what better way to taste what valley growers have to offer than at the "Organic Stone Fruit Jubilee." Enjoy 60 varieties of peaches, plums, nectarines, apricots, and pluots, plus live entertainment. It’s Saturday from 5- 8:30pm at Mokichi Okada Association’s Oasis Garden in Clovis. Tickets are $ 5 for adults. Kids 12 and under get in free.
-It’s sure to be a great weekend at Chukchansi Park. Watch the first place Grizzlies Friday night take on the las vegas 51’s, then catch a fireworks show after the game. Saturday there will be a "Where Champions are Grown" ring giveaway. And it’s Father’s Day at the park Sunday.
-Visalia Rawhide also in first place and they play this weekend, too. Watch as they take on the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Friday night is sure to be fun-filled with entertainment or take dad to a game Sunday for Father’s Day.
