A burger chain is adding crickets to the menu.

Wayback Burgers’ new Oreo Mud Pie Cricket Protein Milkshake is made with Peruvian chocolate-flavored cricket powder.

The bug-infused shake began as an April fool’s joke earlier this year, but after testing the item and getting positive feedback Wayback is adding it to the menu through the end of September.

     

Wayback Burgers has restaurants coast to coast with locations in southern California and the Bay area.

If that doesn’t do it for you, maybe this is more up your alley. Chicken Charlie’s is offering a caviar Twinkie at the Orange County fair. The deep fried Twinkie costs $ 125. Chicken Charlie’s will set up shop at this year’s Big Fresno Fair, but we’ve learned this creation will not be available in the valley.
