Crews Contain 80-acre Fire Near Mendota

Firefighters have contained an 80-acre vegetation fire east of Mendota. 

Cal Fire officials say the fire was being driven by strong winds, but they were able to quickly gain control of the blaze.

Firefighters from the city of Fresno assisted Cal Fire in fighting this fire.

At one point it was threatening a wildlife refuge in the area.
