Fresno PD responds to possible bomb threat

The Fresno PD Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit was called out Friday morning, responding to a suspicious package at a gas station.

Officers say the threat came in around 2:30 a.m. at the Shell station on Blackstone and Dakota.

Investigators say a man walked into the store and told the clerk that a box outside had a bomb in it.

The man is later seen on surveillance video placing the box on the ground, near the parking lot. He then left the scene.

The bomb squad examined the box and found nothing inside.

Police say that they have to take every bomb threat seriously. "We don’t take this lightly," explained Sergeant Diana Trueba.

No suspect was detained on scene.
