Man Found Dead in Stolen Car in Porterville

Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a homicide in Porterville after a Hispanic man in his 20s was found dead inside a car.

Detectives say it happened just after 5 p.m. in the area of the 1200 block of Linda Vista in Porterville.

They say a county worker noticed suspicious behavior: two vehicles pulled up on the road, the driver of one car got out, entered another car, and quickly took off. 

The worker reported the suspicious activity, and detectives arrived to find the man dead with visible trauma in the backseat of an older model tan Honda.

Detectives say the vehicle had been reported stolen the week before.
