Valley Businesses Celebrate Drone Day

As september gets a little bit closer people are excited to hear from the FAA and what regulations will be places on drones, businesses are already looking at ways the drones can be used to advance their business.

This week, drone technology is all the buzz. Chris Geiger is in the wedding photography business and he is one of those anxiously awaiting for the FAA to hand down the rules and hopefully losen the current restictions on operating drones for commercial use.

"Well I am looking forward to being able to integrate aerial photography to my work both for portraits and wedding photography," Geiger says.

In the meantime, he has been using the drone for personal use, taking amazing video of fires and wedding venues; the possibilities…endless, when it comes to expanding he wedding photography services.

"There can be some interesting views to establish the environment in which the wedding is happening. Looking at the chairs the surrounding plants and vegetation if the wedding is outdoors,"Geiger says.

Another field eager to use the technology is real estate. Property photographer Doug Rose says he just purchased a drone in anticipation of the FAA losening some of the current restrictions. He says in his industry, it’s a real game changer.

"I’m going to be able to show properties from a different perspective as well as the land,"

Rose believes giving people the opportunity to see homes and the lots they sit on from a birds-eye view will atrract out of town buyers, opening the market to a whole new way of doing business.

"It’s gonna allow the real estate agents to be able to market their property in a different new fresh way," Rose says.

Other intivative ways bigger companies are looking into using drones is through home deliveries.
