OAKHURST, CA – The Yosemite Badgers Pee-wee youth football team has triumphed in the Central Valley Youth Football League (CVYFL) championship, capping off an exhilarating season with heart-stopping finales!

The journey to the championship began with a thrilling division semifinal championship game against Laton on Saturday, October 25 at Laton. With the score locked at 0-0 at the end of regulation, the teams squared off in an intense overtime battle. They fought through not one, but three overtime periods, during which both teams managed to score, yet still ended in a tie!
As the tension mounted for a fourth overtime, the referees made a controversial decision to determine the winner by coin toss, which Laton won. The Badgers were understandably devastated, but the call stood, allowing Laton to advance to the CVYFL championship game in Parlier on Saturday, November 1.
In a turn of events, the head coach of the Badgers appealed the decision to league officials, arguing that relying on a coin toss was not in accordance with standard protocol for resolving such ties. After reviewing the case, the league agreed, and it was decided that the teams would replay the crucial last overtime period in a special session prior to the championship.

In the rematch, Laton traveled to Parlier, and the Badgers emerged victorious, earning their redemption!
With renewed momentum, the Badgers faced Parlier in the championship game. The tension was palpable as the score remained tied at 0-0 until the fourth quarter. However, the Badgers stepped up, scoring two touchdowns in quick succession, ultimately securing their first-ever CVYFL championship title!
Congratulations to the Yosemite Badgers Pee-Wee team for their incredible season and well-deserved victory!
