Pulitzer awarded for reporting on Central Valley drought

Diana Marcum, an LA Times writer, has been awarded the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Feature Writing.

Her piece on the California drought, beat out a Boston Globe article on a rare whale and a New Yorker recreation of a young man’s imprisonment. "Scene from California’s Dust Bowl" covered farming issues around the valley, including Porterville’s water shortage and Madera almond orchards.

Marcum used to write for the Fresno Bee.
