A Tulare County sheriff’s deputy crashed his patrol car during a high speed pursuit. The deputy was chasing a suspected carjacker down Highway 190 in Porterville around 10:30 Wednesday night. Investigators say the suspect, Mario Hernandez Gomez pulled out a gun and started shooting. The deputy lost control, trying to avoid the gunfire and rolled the patrol car. Fortunately, he walked away with minor injuries along with his four-legged partner. Gomez also wrecked and was arrested. He was treated at the hospital and booked on several charges.
