Woman’s body found in car on side of the road

We’re following a developing story this afternoon, Fresno County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating a suspicious death after a woman’s body was found in a car.

Officials say they found the vehicle, parked along the side of Tollhouse Road around 7 this morning. Homicide investigators remain on scene. The incident caused a road closure for several hours. Officers say several details lead them to believe the death was questionable.

"We’re calling it questionable at this point for a few different reasons. Number one, her age. She’s in her mid to early 40s. Number two, where she was found. And number 3, the manner in which she was found, the positioning inside the car seemed a little bit off and so they’re going to look closer at that to determine what exactly happened here," Tony Botti, The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office PIO said.

The death is still under investigation. We will have updated information as it is made available.
